Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all got to enjoy quality time with friends and loved ones. 2017 has come to a close and as such, I’m going through my yearly routine of looking back, connecting the dots, and seeing what lies ahead. Here are some of the things I plan to jump into full force into 2018:

• Blogging – New year, new blog! I’m focusing on staying consistent this year, opening up the content to more than just Technical posts about work. I’m thinking about opening it up to Family Tech, Leadership, Crossfit and any other topics I get passionate about. I owe The Johnson Fam (my sister’s very successful family business) for inspiration to do this.
• Exercise – Stay Consistent! My wife and I are now in our 3rd consecutive year at Crossfit ASAP. It is very much a part of who we are now, but there are still movements I cannot do and PRs (Personal Records) I have yet to achieve. Being consistent means to really stay on top of my schedule, and most of all, going to bed on time! When I exercise regularly, I find that my eating choices stay in check and my energy level can stay pretty high throughout the day.
• Continuous Education – I have been in awe this year at how hard my two oldest kids work in all their extracurricular activities while maintaining great grades. My college sophomore son attends California Lutheran University full-time, works multiple part-time gigs, and is very involved in extracurricular activities. My high school sophomore daughter is acing all her classes while also very involved with leadership, music and dance activities outside of school. This is a class example of the tables being switched where my kids are inspiring me to do great things.

It’s funny, every year, I do a lot of research finding sources of inspiration or ideas for what I want to do in the new year. This year, I’ve discovered my inspiration has been there right under my nose the whole time. Just needed to look up and see it.
